Loser: Julian Assange

By New Statesman

Julian Assange: winner or loser? It depends what measurement you’re using. He’s gone from posting public profiles on dating websites which apparently demonstrate that every cliche about computer geeks is true (“I’m not the droid you’re looking for”) to being a charismatic counter-culture icon. He’d be a contender for Winner of the Year if it wasn’t for the almighty backlash his incessant leaking has provoked, and for whatever it was that happened in Sweden. Factor in the fact that his own staff at WikiLeaks seem to think he’s becoming something of a liability, and he has to go in the L pile.
