Did you hear that someone published a memoir today? No? In honour of Tony Blair’s tome, we have compiled a list of the top five political memoirs (rated best to worse) of recent times. They have been chosen for the impact they caused when they were published and their reception by the press. This method is, of course, by no means scientific or definitive.
Blair’s memoirs are the latest in the raft of New Labour offerings, following hot on the heels of Peter Mandelson’s own exposé of what he called the “soap opera years” of the New Labour government in The Third Man, and the latest instalment of Alastair Campbell’s Diaries.
