Which ministers won’t serve in the Boris Johnson government?

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is compiling his first Cabinet – but a number of senior ministers have either resigned or been sacked. Here’s a list of Cabinet ministers who will not be in the new government.

Karen Bradley – Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (2018-19)

James Brokenshire – communities secretary (2018-19)

Greg Clark – business secretary (2016-19)

Liam Fox – international trade secretary (2016-19)

David Gauke – justice secretary (2018-19)

Philip Hammond – Chancellor of the Exchequer (2016-19)

Damian Hinds – education secretary (2018-19)

David Lidington – Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster & de facto deputy prime minister (2016-19)

Penny Mordaunt – defence secretary (2019)

David Mundell – Secretary of State for Scotland (2015-19)

Rory Stewart – international development secretary (2019)

Mel Stride – Leader of the House of Commons (2019)
