Huhne in court

Former Energy Secretary appears in court for the first time.

By George Eaton

Here’s the former Energy Secretary, flanked by eight police officers, leaving Westminster magistrates court earlier today after his first appearance in court.

He reportedly “barely exchanged a glance” at his former wife Vicky Pryce as they stood in the dock. In a six minute appearance, the pair spoke only to confirm their names, dates of birth and addresses. Huhne, who denies all allegations, is charged with perverting the course of justice after he allegedly dodged a speeding penalty.

The case has been adjourned to 2 March at Southwark crown court.
