This can’t be right

Is it a toilet? Is it a sink?

By Sophie Elmhirst

It’s both, is apparently the answer.

Oh, let us celebrate these wonders of modern design.

Although there’s something about it that makes me feel distinctly uncomfortable, I have to admit. I mean, what if something goes in the wrong direction? I’m just not sure these two things should be so intricately connected.

It’s a much trendier and elegant solution to existing sink-to-toilet greywater systems, and we’re excited that high design has embraced waste-water management.

You know what? I’m excited, too! Some might call it dumbing down, the combining of high design and bogs. But in fact, it’s the democratisation of culture, the elevating of the lavatorial. And high time, too.
