You’d think if you were enough of a fan of Amy Schumer’s to spend $100 or so to go to one of her tour dates, you’d probably have some idea of her politics. The feminist comedian, gun-control activist has used her TV show, tour and promotional interviews to insistently state her support for Hillary Clinton.
But some fans were still horrified when, at her Tampa show last night, she called Trump an “orange, sexual-assaulting fake- college-starting monster,” and invited a fan, who in her own words, “doesn’t seem like a psychopath,” on stage to explain his support for the Republican presidential candidate.
She went on to express her support for sexual assault survivors. “This week was real triggering. If you’re a survivor of any sexual assault, if you feel comfortable, please stand up.”
After applauding them, she said, “I can’t imagine looking at my little niece, who’s two, and saying, ‘This is our president. He wants to finger his daughter.’”
When around 200 Trump supporters booed and left, Schumer added, “I know you’re are here to laugh, but you choose the way you wanna live your life, It’s just too important. It’s just too important, so we’re going to spend one more minute talking about it. You have every right to go the bathroom, or you can leave, or whatever you want. But for five minutes I’m going to talk about stuff. It’s up to you, Tampa.”
