Fantastic Mr Fox

Three reasons this one is worth a watch: puppets, the Beach Boys and Michael Gambon. Roald Dahl may have written the book, but this is very much a Wes Anderson film. In short, Dad leads a family of misfits into disaster after disaster; characters are brutally but amusingly insensitive to one another; there are some nice musical numbers. Nothing, in other words, that Anderson didn’t already say in The Royal Tenenbaums, but still — he says it with style.
