Last night’s leaders’ debate produced no clear winner (despite what an overwhelmingly conservative press may claim this morning) and our polls of polls reflects as much.
Nick Clegg is out in front on 33.8 per cent, with David Cameron a point behind on 32.8 per cent and Gordon Brown on 27.6 per cent. Thus, only around six points separate the three leaders, a marked contrast with last week when Clegg emerged as the big winner.
I expect Labour strategists will be satisfied with Brown’s performance and the fact that he’s tied with Cameron in two of the five polls is no small achievement.

YouGov: Cameron 36, Clegg 32, Brown 29.
ComRes: Clegg 33, Brown 30, Cameron 30.
Angus Reid: Clegg 35, Cameron 32, Brown 23.
Populus: Cameron 37, Clegg 36, Brown 27.
ICM: Clegg 33, Brown 29, Cameron 29.
