Times Square car bomb scare: in pictures

New York police defuse device.

Police keep watch in Times Square after an incident involving a suspicious vehicle caused New York City authorities to shut down parts of the square on Saturday. Police investigated a smoking Nissan Pathfinder on 45th Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues and found propane tanks, petrol, a powdered substance and a timing device inside.
