Another photo from Twitter shows people moments after the blast. The Home Ministry said that at least 20 people were killed in three simultaneous explosions, with a further 113 injured, many of them seriously.

This was the biggest strike in Mumbai since the 2008 seige by militant gunmen in the same area. This graffiti refers to that traumatic assault, which left 166 dead.

Policemen this morning investigate the bomb site. Suspicion has fallen on the Indian Mujahideen, an underground terrorist group sworn to avenge the massacre of hundreds of Muslims in Gujarat, the neighbouring state.

An office worker passes more graffiti referring to the 2008 attack. This was the fourth terrorist attack on Mumbai, India's financial centre, since 2003.
