Coronavirus is causing economic crisis as consumer demand collapses, unemployment rises and businesses are forced to close or reduce their operations. What lessons can be learned from the 2008 financial crisis? What economic models should we adopt? How can the manufacturing sector be supported? In this session, former finance minister for Greece Yanis Varoufakis, director of PRIME Ann Pettifor and Common Wealth senior researcher Adrienne Buller joined New Statesman senior online editor George Eaton for a panel discussion to explore the global post-pandemic economy.
