Job opportunity at the New Statesman: Sub Editor

Are you a talented and proactive sub-editor, with the ability to work across online and print platforms?

The New Statesman is looking for a talented, proactive and diligent sub-editor to work across all platforms, including the print magazine, website and special projects, maintaining the highest possible editorial standards throughout.

Reporting to the head of production and chief sub-editor, you will be responsible for editing and fact-checking copy and ensuring it conforms to house style, and for writing creative page furniture.

You will also assist the senior sub-editor with uploading the magazine to the website each week.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work accurately and efficiently while under tight deadlines.

You will have at least two years’ experience as a print sub-editor and be confident working in InDesign. Ideally, you will have some knowledge of web content management systems and of editing for SEO and social media.
