Wave Books

Here’s an interesting follow-up to Nicholson Baker’s Kindle review, which we blogged about yesterday. The New Yorker’s Book Bench blog draws our attention to the painter Jane Mount, whose canvases focus on the physical presence of books on shelves, and Wave Books, an independent poetry press which might just represent “a glimpse into the future of publishing” thanks to the beauty of its design work (pictured above): “While most popular titles will go straight-to-digital, there will be a steady market amongst bookophiles who cherish the physicality of their collections, rewarding publishers like Wave Books for their infatuation with the printed word.”
