Breaking: Cameron to be accused of misleading parliament

Denis MacShane on Euro-ally claims.

By James Macintyre

This just in from Denis MacShane:

I will be raising when speaking in chamber in the next hour or so the fact that the PM misled parliament yesterday.

He told me (col 48) that “Labour’s allies in the European Parliament” included the Self-Defence League of Poland, whose leader Andrzej Lepper admired Hitler.

The Self-Defence League has no more MEPs except one former member, Ryszard Czarneck, who is in the European Conservative Reform group set up by Cameron and Hague. So the only MEP linked to the Hitler-admiring Lepper actually is in the same group as Tory MEPs.

THANK YOU

Obviously although he misled the Commons the PM could not know the mistake he was making, as he relied on Tory party briefing which has consistently got this issue wrong.

It is about William Hague’s judgement as usual.
