Queen’s Speech: coalition to set out its stall

Cameron’s first Commons clashes since becoming PM.

By James Macintyre

Parliament returns at last today after a long election and election-aftermath.

The Queen will outline her new coalition government’s agenda, said to include more academy schools, a “Great Repeal Bill” junking Labour legislation opposed by the Tories and Lib Dems, and a slightly incomplete-sounding “Political Reform Bill”, all under the Tory-Liberal banner of “freedom (Lib and Tory), fairness (Lib) and responsibility (Tory)”.

It should be an interesting day. I will be blogging on the action from 14:30 hours. Stay tuned.
