Dated but does the job

By Mike Butcher

Anti-Slavery International, an organisation committed to eliminating all forms of slavery throughout the world, has been nominated for the NS New Media awards. So what’s the site like? Well it’s pretty javascript heavy. In plain English that means every time you roll over a menu you get a list of options. Compared to a lot of sites, the interface takes a little getting used to, but it’s not too onerous. There seems to be a lot of things I could actually do easily on the site such as join actions or sign declarations against slavery. Although there is a slightly dated feel to the site – in terms of the progression of web design over the last few years – it looks like it is pretty much doing the job it was intended to do.
