Wales to lay out “road map“ for leaving lockdown

By Samuel Horti

The Welsh government will reveal a “road map” out of lockdown later today but will not publish any suggested dates for easing restrictions, First Minister Mark Drakeford has said.

Drakeford told Sky News it would be a “traffic light system” that suggested the “first cautious step” the country could take out of lockdown.

On attaching dates to the steps, he said: “Once you provide a date, people get fixated with a date rather than with a process you have to go through to make sure that it is then safe to take those measures.”

The Northern Ireland Executive also published its lockdown exit plan without any suggested dates.
