Rory Stewart resigns by posting a picture of two horses

By Media Mole

The Secretary of State for International Development and Minister for Awkward Walks Rory Stewart has resigned in a very Rory Stewart way: outside, having a chat.

With some horses.

“Congratulations @BorisJohnson on becoming Leader,” he said, to his two horse friends, one hand solemnly resting on snout.

“Honour to serve in turn as Minister of Environment @DefraGovUK, Mid East +Asia @DFID_UK, Africa @FCO, Prisons @MoJGovUK + then Development Secretary in Cabinet +NSC. Backbench tomorrow serving Cumbria. Thank you all. More walking!”

Those horses are being nice to their friend Rory, but really they’re thrilled with the Tory leadership result – because they’re proponents of a neigh-deal Brexit.

…What.
