Labour leadership election voting deadline nears

Ballots must be cast before noon on Wednesday 21 September.

The deadline to vote in the Labour leadership election falls today, at noon.

Members are being asked to choose between the current leader, Jeremy Corbyn, and a challenger representing disaffected MPs and members, Owen Smith. 

If you haven’t voted yet, here is what you need to know:

Can I vote?

If you can vote, and you are a Labour party member, you should have received your ballot by both email and post.

If you’re an eligible registered supporter or affiliated supporter, you should have received your ballot by email.

If you haven’t received either by now, then the Labour party may have decided you were ineligible to vote. 

What does the ballot look like?

Check your inbox for an email from “Labour Party Elections” with the email address labourelections@electoralreform.co.uk

When is the deadline to vote?

The ballot closes at noon on Wednesday 21 September.If you requested a re-issue, you should have received it before the voting deadline. 

When will we know the winner?

The announcement will be made on Saturday 24 September, in Liverpool.
