There’s been a bit of a Twitter frenzy over a piece the Telegraph’s diarist and critic Tim Walker has written about Newsnight presenter Laura Kuenssberg, in the Mandrake diary section he edits.

After attempting to get a comment from Kuenssberg about whether she may be succeeding the news programme’s presenter, Jeremy Paxman, who’s recently announced he’ll be standing down, he then wrote the offending remark about the presenter:

Is it just me, by the way, or has Laura been showing a lot more cleavage than usual since Paxo’s job came up for grabs?

Quite a few readers picked up on this rather Jurassic ‘joke’:

But Walker has taken it all in good humour, it seems:

This mole wonders whether the presenter finds it quite as amusing.
