Conor Delaney, tax lawyer at Milestone International Tax Partners, is not impressed at Starbucks’ announcement they will pay £20m in tax over the next two years, following public outcry that the coffee giant has paid no corporation tax in three years. Starbucks admitted the level of consumer anger had been “loud and clear” and that it was responding to its customers – but many politicians and tax experts said it made a mockery of the tax system.
