Revealed: London 2012 Olympic mascots

By Jon Bernstein

OK, slightly off-topic, but here, just revealed on the Olympic 2012 website, are the mascots for the forthcoming Olympic Games in London. They are called Wenlock (on the right) and Mandeville.

Lord Coe has just been on the radio using words like “tradition” and possibly “synergies”, which is all very nice. Meanwhile that respected political commentator and former Spurs manager, David Pleat, said they reminded him of Nick Clegg and David Cameron.

Which is enough of an excuse to put this on The Staggers. Just about.
