Three car bombs have exploded in central Baghdad, killing at least five people and wounding at least 14.
The series of explosions occurred outside the heavily fortified Green Zone, in the vicinity of the foreign ministry and the Iranian embassy.
This is the latest attack in an upsurge of violence in the Iraqi capital. Last week, 127 people died in multiple car bombings, and in October, 155 people were killed, although government figures show that overall, violence has fallen over the past 18 months.
Analysts say that Al-Qaeda militants are trying to destabilise the country ahead of the general election due to take place in March.
