Stephen Byers to quit parliament . . .

. . . but who cares?

By Mehdi Hasan

Stephen Byers, the former transport secretary and New Labour outrider, has announced he is to stand down as an MP at the next general election.

I can think of only two responses:

1) Who cares?

2) Good riddance.

3) Can anyone name a single thing that Stephen Byers has done, either as a backbencher or as a minister, to improve British public life?
