FILM: Josie Long and Mehdi Hasan, plus UK Uncut take on Barclays Bank.

By Staff Blogger

At the Progressive London conference, Michael Chanan catches up with the comedian Josie Long and the New Statesman‘s senior editor (politics) Mehdi Hasan. He also listens to Unite’s Len McCluskey and False Economy’s Clifford Singer, while the West End sees UK Uncut actions against Barclays Bank, and South London enjoys a Carnival Against the Cuts.

Additional filming by Kaveh Abassian and Philippa Daniel. Philippa’s own video of the Carnival Against the Cuts is here.

Michael Chanan is professor of film at Roehampton University. His video blog documents the emerging anti-cuts movement and will lead to a full-length film. You can watch previous instalments here.
