The New Statesman is looking for a temporary, full-time events programmer for six weeks to help us deliver our flagship Northern Powerhouse summit at the end of February. In this role you will liaise with conference panelists and speakers, from MPs to local authority figures to business leaders, write briefing documents and invitations, and collaborate with editorial and commercial teams on programming for the day. At the event, you will be the contact point for speakers and panelists, and will be required to travel for the summit.

You will also work with the commercial team on other ad-hoc events, writing briefings and invitations, suggesting panelists and speakers, and liaising with guests.

We are looking for someone calm, organised and effective under pressure, with excellent communication skills and good knowledge of the political scene. We are looking for the kind of person who is unphased by last-minute changes and cancellations. There may be a possibility to extend the role beyond six weeks. The pay range for this position is 23k-28k pro rata.

Please submit your CV to alona.ferber@newstatesman.co.uk by 10 am on 14 January. We are looking to fill this role as soon as we can before the end of January, and may fill it before the closing date for applications.
