The American Legion does a youth camp that's all about politics. It's called Boys State. Young men attend to learn about the function of government, how elections work, and the benefits of national service. Very educational.

I cannot say that I'm in any way surprised by Becks comments. He is and has been throughout his whole carreer a total heartless a-hole and incredibly unworthy person to get media attention. I knew, yes KNEW, the "kids" at that camp and know for a fact that they were there on free will and not in any way "placed" or forced there by their parents and their parents views of the world (as for example "Camp Jesus" or "Tea Party"). Their ages were between 13-30 and the only ones under the age of 13 was there with parents or alike and only for the day. Their days were filled with laughter, debates of everything between nailpolish to nuclear weapons, camp fires, sports, love, friendship and yes, politics. Each and every one of them were ambitious, dedicated, open minded, joyfull and so much more. Now close to 90 of them are murded. And Beck calls it "Hitler Youth"? I dont even want to say what I think of this man or the man behind the murders. They arent worth it. And no, i am not comparing them. But to beck; Next time, make sure you KNOW what you voice-up-to/speak/talk about before you open that stupidious mouth of yours and say anything else. From my whole heart; May you be forgotten and never heard of again.

I teach history just a few miles from Dachau KZ Memorial site. Many of my students have family members who were in the Hitlerjugend. If I said ANYTHING like this, I would be immediately fired. As a teacher, every class is scrutinized and I risk everything if anything I say is misconstrued, always a danger when there are ESLs.
