I’m a successful person with a high profile job. Alas, one of my four kids has learning difficulties. After much prayer and discussion we decided to send the child to a private school. The trouble is, although my conscience is clear, some people smell a whiff of hypocrisy – I used to hold quite a senior post in the state sector. I’m worried about becoming a whipping girl. I have no doubt you will think I’ve done the right thing.

Obviously your children come first in your life. Like my children come first in mine. It’s the same for everyone. That’s why, if the inclusion policy is to work, it has to be properly funded. You had the opportunity to make that happen. You failed.
Now you bail out to the private sector, like others who can afford it. The rest are left to fail. Unlike you they have no choices or opportunities. Sorry, did God not tell you that? Oh he’s a one.
Well next time you pray, ask God to clarify his position on equality and access to education. You might also want to test him on female priests, homosexuality, the use condoms to fight AIDs and the need to keep a lid on the global population – really, two kids is plenty.
While you have God on the line could you ask him from me, what interests the Devil holds in the airline business. For the sake of the planet I think we should be told.
