Our paper tax discs are on the way out: vote Ukip to rescue them

Could paper tax discs be the new "proper larger size and design" of British passports for Ukip?

By Media Mole

Terrible news for those multitaskers who both drive cars and vote Ukip today, as paper tax discs are being scrapped. Motorists will no longer have to display them on their cars, as the police are now able to rely on the DVLA’s digital register.

If you were at Ukip conference last week, you may have already merrily affixed a purple and yellow slogan-bearing disc on your windscreen in preparation for this sad day. They were selling them on one of their stalls, as spotted by BuzzFeed:

WHAT WILL BRITAIN DO WITHOUT TAX DISCS?

This mole is really glad there is a political party that actually exists outside the Westminster bubble and champions the issues that real people want addressed. It trusts Ukip to go big on a campaign to return those little paper beauties to the windscreens of every honest British motorist’s car and not to drop such a noble crusade as it did with its flagship 2010 manifesto pledge“British passports will return to their proper larger size and design.”
