In these times of angst about Europe, Britain and national identity, we can sometimes forget to celebrate our cultural differences.

Well, here’s one example of magnificently dismissive continental gesturing even the most Brexity of Brexiteers couldn’t fail* to giggle at.

On the BBC’s Politics Live, Pascal Lamy, the former director-general of the World Trade Organisation, showed Iain Duncan Smith what he thought of his imaginary “alternative arrangements” to the backstop in the Withdrawal Agreement. Frenchly.
