Video: Theresa May declares support for gay marriage

The Home Secretary becomes most senior politician to take part in Out4Marriage campaign.

By Samira Shackle

Theresa May, the Conservative Home Secretary, has released a video expressing her personal support for gay marriage, as “marriage should be for everyone”. The video makes her the most senior politician to join the cross-party Out4Marriage campaign. It was released on the same day that David Cameron said he would allow a free vote on whether or not to legalise gay marriage, after ongoing tensions with some of his MPs.
