I’m a solicitor by training but, at present, a carer.

Where do you live?

North-east Hampshire.

Do you vote?

Always.

How long have you been a subscriber?

Ten years, off and on.

What made you start?

I wanted a better understanding of what was happening around me.

Is the NS bug in the family?

No, but I leave it lying around the house to tempt them.

What pages do you flick to first?

The lead article then Q&A.

How do you read yours?

I dip in throughout the week.

What would you like to see more of in the NS?

Disability issues. In a perfect world, something on chess, too.

Who are your favourite NS writers?

Historically Laurie Penny, currently Jeremy Cliffe.

Who would you put on the cover of the NS?

Sir Ludwig Guttmann.

With which political figure would you least like to be stuck in a lift?

John Bercow.

All-time favourite NS article?

The edition covering British identity was brilliant.
