Welsh government “beginning to think about“ ways to ease lockdown

By Samuel Horti

The Welsh government is “beginning to think about” ways to ease the coronavirus lockdown restrictions, Education Minister Kirsty Williams has said.

“The Welsh government is beginning to think about what steps we can take as a nation to begin to ease the restrictions following an end to lockdown. Clearly that will be guided very much by science,” she told the daily press briefing in Cardiff. Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford would give more details after tomorrow’s meeting of the UK’s scientific advisory group, she said.

A spokesman for Prime Minister Boris Johnson said earlier today that now was not the time for a national conversation about leaving lockdown.
