Job vacancy: Head of Editorial Research for Spear’s Magazine

Spear’s, the award-winning wealth management/business magazine, is hiring.

Spear’s, the award-winning wealth management/business magazine, requires a Head of Editorial Research who will be responsible for heading the in-house editorial team that researches and writes the magazine’s respected private client Indices for each issue (ranking and rating top individuals within a private client sector, from private banking to family law). They will also need to act as editor of the annual Spear’s 500 HNW private client guide for financial services.

The candidate must have a financial/business or legal services background or training. They must be able to write engaging, informed research and analysis on the key players of the UK wealth management and legal private client industry, as well as features on the UK private client financial services sector. 

This important editorial role will be responsible for a team that covers all sectors — including private banking, asset management, law, family offices, tax and trust and other Indices including luxury and travel. The candidate must be able to manage a focused team and have a proven record as both a financial writer and researcher. Previous experience working at publications such as Chambers legal directory or Legal 500 may be useful but not essential.

Candidates must have:
A good working knowledge of the wealth management industry
Understand the HNW private client world
Good analysis skills at identifying key figures within the industry
Ability to network with and interview senior figures within UK wealth and luxury landscape
