Dell unveils new products

Information technology corporation offers new cloud offerings and PowerEdge servers.

Dell is expanding its range of offerings to help customers build cloud computing and hyperscale data centre installations. In addition to hardware and software Dell will also launch a web application platform service, combining Dell products with software from cloud computing firm Joyent to help address issues around web application development. Dell is also creating a new Cloud Partner Program for customers who want public and private clouds.

Dell also plans to extend its PowerEdge server family with the new C-Series. The company will work with three partners to deliver the new services, including Aster Data, Greenplum and Canonical, as well as collaborating with Microsoft on the Windows Azure platform and Microsoft continuing to invest in Dell hardware.
