Jeremy Corbyn has been MP for Islington North since 1983, representing the Labour Party until he had the whip removed in 2020, after which he sat as an independent. He was leader of the Labour Party and leader of the opposition from 2015 to 2020. Corbyn was born in 1949 and was a trade union representative prior to becoming an MP; he chaired the Stop the War Coalition from 2011 to 2015.
