Mayors and local authorities have been at the forefront of the pandemic response. How can heads of cities reshape their local agenda after the pandemic? How can this be achieved across policy areas including transport, housing and social services?

On 12 June, the New Statesman’s Spotlight policy supplement convened an online global policy forum, which brought together former and current leaders from politics, business and international organisations to discuss how we can meet the challenges of a post-pandemic world. In this session, CityMetric editor Sommer Mathis was joined by London Breed, Mayor of San Francisco, and Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, to discuss municipal policy in a world after coronavirus.
