Jeremy Corbyn has published his 2014/15 tax return, showing that he earned less than George Osborne paid in tax.
The Labour leader released his tax return during David Cameron’s statement on the Panama Papers to the House of Commons, following similar declarations by David Cameron, George Osborne and Nicola Sturgeon.
The tax return shows that Corbyn earned £70,795 as the MP for Islington North, on which he paid £18,912 income tax.
The Leader of the Opposition declared a further £1,850 in taxable income, comprising £1,350 for delivering lectures and £500 for participating in surveys.
Unlike David Cameron and George Osborne, who published summaries of their tax returns, Corbyn released to the press a 12-page photocopy of the official document.
The Labour leader incurred a £100 fine for submitting his tax return a week late.
