Stella Creasy has called on the Prime Minister to intercede on behalf of a Muslim family, who had their visa to the United States revoked at the last minute, scuppering a long-planned trip to Disneyland.
Mohammad Mahmood’s family of 11 – including nine children – had saved for months to afford the holiday before having their visa revoked – for reasons the United States government refuses to explain. Creasy, having hit a “brick wall” when asking for an explanation from the US Embassy in London,is calling on David Cameron to intervene in the dispute.
Growing numbers of British Muslims are having their visas revoked by the American government without explanation, Creasy said. Shiraz Maher, a contributing writer to the New Statesman and senior fellow at Kings College London, revealed on Twitter that he is among a number of UK citizens of Muslim faith who have been barred from entering the United States.
