Rolf Harris found guilty of indecent assault

The 84-year-old entertainer has been convicted of 12 attacks.

Rolf Harris has been found guilty on all 12 counts of indecent assault at Southwark Crown Court in London.

The 84-year-old entertainer was convicted of 12 attacks on four girls between 1968 and 1986. According to the BBC, one of the alleged victims was a childhood friend of Harris’s daughter.

During the trial, which lasted for seven weeks, prosecutors claimed that Harris was a “Jekyll and Hyde” character who used his fame to abuse under-age girls.

Harris’s conviction is another high-profile case for Operation Yewtree, the Metropolitan Police unit investigating historical sex abuse claims in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal.
