Max Clifford found guilty of eight indecent assaults

Offences spanned a period of almost 20 years.

By New Statesman

Max Clifford has been found guilty of eight indecent assaults on women and girls as young as 15.

The 71-year-old PR guru was cleared of two other charges at Southwark Crown Court. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on one other. The offences spanned a period of almost 20 years.

Clifford is the first person to be convicted under the Operation Yewtree investigation into sex crimes. He was arrested in December 2012, and charged in April 2013.

He is bailed until Friday, when he will return to court for sentencing.
