“At this stage, it is difficult to know whether some of the recent more positive signs will persist”

Bank of England governor Mervyn King sounded a note of caution in his speech to business community in Cardiff last night. He said the Bank was ready to inject more money into the economy if needed, but said that the UK would have to “be patient” because there were “no shortcuts to the necessary adjustment in our economy.”
