Dany le Rouge versus the speculators

Green MEP Daniel Cohn-Bendit on the Greek debt crisis.

The BBC’s Paul Mason, economics editor of Newsnight, has written a fascinating piece for the next issue of the NS on the implications of the Greek debt crisis for the future of the euro and, indeed, for the coming age of austerity in Britain. To whet your appetite for that, here’s footage of Daniel “Dany le Rouge” Cohn-Bendit, Green MEP and veteran of the May ’68 barricades, denouncing the conditions imposed on Greece by the European bailout in the European Parliament, and warning of contagion elsewhere in the Mediterranean rim (“Just wait and see what will happen in Spain!”).
