Ukip leader: “I haven’t come here to discuss my manifesto”

Sopel to Lord Pearson: "Have you read it?"

By Jon Bernstein

If you haven’t caught it already, this is worth the full three minutes and 59 seconds of your time. The BBC Campaign Show‘s Jon Sopel attempts to pin down Ukip leader Lord Pearson on the details of his party’s manifesto.

Not very successfully as it turns out.

The interview ends like this:

Sopel: Have you read your manifesto?

Lord Pearson: Of course.

Sopel: Really.

Lord Pearson:Yup.

Sopel: You don’t seem very familiar with it.

Lord Pearson: I haven’t remembered it all in great detail. I didn’t come on to talk about this sort of thing.

I guess that’s what Ukip means by Sod The Lot.
