Is Brown going lukewarm on electoral reform?

Fears that PM may row back under pressure from Balls

Gordon Brown was just asked about his commitment to the Alternative Vote at PMQs today. The Prime Minister said he backed AV because of the constituency link. But Newstatesman.com has learned that several of the most senior cabinet ministers are worried that Brown will row back on his pledge before the election, under pressure from advocates of the current system, including Ed Balls and Nick Brown.
