The New Statesman’s website is relaunching and this gives me another chance to redeem myself blogwise. I have my doubts that corporate blogs can really work – it seems to me they rather defeat the object of acting as an alternative source of information. But I have found this a useful place to release information from time to time and sometimes I even have the odd thought that suits this form rather than the pages of the New Statesman, so I’m going to give it another go. I just hope that people’s patience hasn’t completely run out by now.
I’ve made the odd contribution in the mean time to the Guardian’s Comment is Free site: one on Islamophobia and the other on the latest revelations about the Government’s September 2002 dossier on Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction.
I must say I find Comment is Free mystifying. How does anyone get the time to read all those responses? We are told that one of the reasons newspaper circulation is falling is that no one has any time any more. So who has time to post and read all these blog responses?
