Former owner reacquires San Diego Magazine

Jim Fitzpatrick has bought back the title that he sold in 2005.

Fitzpatrick reportedly bought the lifestyle magazine from the US-based Curtco Media Labs for less than what he had sold it for five years ago.

Fitzpatrick aims to increase the digital presence of his newly acquired publication. He is partnering with Milt and Frank Jones, owners of lifestyle magazine Palm Springs Life, who will be advisors for the magazine.

Many of the 20 existing staff will be retained but publisher Maureen Sullivan and editor Tom Blair are likely to quit. Fitzpatrick did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
