Sign-up The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Hope, organised by the Daily Show hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, went ahead on Washington, DC's National Mall this weekend. The organisers stressed that the event was non-partisan, with some self-avowed Republicans in attendance – but the Tea Party was lampooned on many placards, as above. It was seen by many as a response to the Fox News pundit Glenn Beck's recent Restoring Honour rally, which occupied the same site back in August and was hailed as a sign of conservative power.
