Sign-up The group of scientists advising the government on the UK's response to the coronavirus crisis will publish the names of some of its members "shortly", Sir Patrick Vallance, the government's chief scientific adviser, announced this morning. The government has faced criticism for not revealing membership of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), and last week it emerged that Downing Street adviser Dominic Cummings sits in on the meetings of the supposedly independent body. Sage will also release a list of the documents that have been brought to the group's meetings, and eventually the documents themselves, Vallance said. › Why a coronavirus "exit strategy" is an impossible goal Subscribe For more great writing from our award-winning journalists subscribe for just £1 per month!
