The New Statesman is looking for a social media producer for its website.

By New Statesman

The New Statesman is looking for a dynamic social media expert with a flair for writing and distributing shareable content. The successful candidate will be passionate about social media, and will have experience using a wide range of platforms both for personal and professional use.

This is an important role in a growing team which will help increase our direct engagement with our readers and grow the title’s reach. An understanding of politics is helpful but not essential.

The successful applicant should have:
Experience managing social media accounts for a reputable magazine or newspaper.
Extensive knowledge of social media and SEO.
Experience producing content for a digital news outlet.
Active social media profiles on multiple channels.

The role will involve:
Writing shareable content for publication on the New Statesman website.
Managing the New Statesman‘s social media feeds to a high standard.
Increasing social media engagement.
Covering live events and breaking news on social media.
Monitoring trends and producing reports.
Monitoring and researching social media trends and emerging platforms.
Working with writers to help them promote their stories and the New Statesman as a whole.
Working with the marketing department to help cross-promote their subscription offers.
Working flexible hours depending on the flow of breaking news.
